Please forgive my ignorance, but I am totally new to tractors. I intend to buy a John Deere 2210 or 4110 (compact tractor). How do most people insure their tractor? Is this something that goes on your homeowners policy? What paperwork is involved when buying one as far as registering it with anybody?
I have a call into my insurance company and am waiting on a call back.
Thanks for your input.

Homeowners insurance may cover it for fire or theft or natural disaster, but it doesn't generally cover it if it's damaged during use (like if you slide into a tree) or if it's damaged during towing or if there's a loss at another location that's not your home. I bought a policy through John Deere at the time of financing that basically covers the tractor for anything that happens to it. The cost was very reasonable, something like $125 for the three year finance period. My regular insurance carrier, Amica, didn't offer this sort of coverage at all. ....

If you do a search of the archives, there are (2) pretty good threads that address insurance. They're entitled:
“Insurance for tractor??” and “Tractor Insurance Help Please”
I would link you to them, though I’m not sure how to do that. ....
